Arcadian Resources: Drilling Deep Roots in the Heart of America

Arcadian Resources LLC is an independent oil and gas operating company based in north-central Kansas, committed to exploring, developing, and managing energy resources across the American Midwest. Founded on a passion for hard work, community investment, and energy independence, Arcadian Resources has steadily carved out a respected place in the oil and gas industry while simultaneously anchoring itself as a dedicated small-town business rooted in values of family, growth, and community.

Arcadian Resources specializes in the full-cycle operation of oil wells—from exploring prospective drill sites to managing the complex logistical process of drilling and overseeing the completion and ongoing maintenance of wells. The company currently operates across three states—Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas—with a particularly robust footprint in Kansas. In total, Arcadian Resources manages approximately 30 wells in Kansas alone, distributed across 14 counties, with most situated in the western portion of the state.

The heart of Arcadian Resources lies in its founders, Jimmy and Shayna, a husband-and-wife team who exemplify the company’s hardworking ethos and grassroots origins. Jimmy, originally from Colorado, entered the oil and gas workforce immediately after high school, joining a drilling rig crew and immersing himself in the fieldwork of the energy industry. His rise from backup hand to full-fledged driller is a testament to his work ethic, practical experience, and leadership in the field. Over the course of a decade, Jimmy refined his skills and built a comprehensive understanding of oil rig operations—experience that now drives the operational backbone of Arcadian Resources.

While working rigs near Hays, Kansas, Jimmy met Shayna, who was studying at Fort Hays State University. Shayna, a Glen Elder native and Lakeside High School graduate (class of 2011), brought to the partnership a deep connection to the local community and a vision for building something lasting in her hometown. After Shayna’s graduation in 2015, the couple returned to Glen Elder to plant roots, buying a home in 2020 and officially launching the operational phase of Arcadian Resources in 2018.

From its inception, Arcadian Resources LLC has been built around a strong sense of place and community. The couple’s decision to base the business in Beloit, Kansas, reflects their belief in the power of small-town values, the importance of raising a family close to extended relatives, and the opportunities rural America provides for entrepreneurship. What began as a home-based operation quickly outgrew its modest beginnings. In response to the company’s rapid growth, Arcadian Resources purchased a commercial property—Main Street Place—in 2023, signaling a new phase of expansion and professionalization for the business.

Today, Arcadian Resources operates with a dedicated team of professionals who support every facet of its oil and gas operations. The team includes Luis Montero (Field Worker), Kevin Mesceda (Operations Manager), Trevor Winkel (Field Manager and Heavy Machinery Operator), and Kimberly Mesceda (Office Manager). Together, they embody Arcadian’s philosophy of hands-on, reliable, and responsive energy operations. As drilling costs, materials, and energy prices continue to fluctuate, the team remains focused on strategic development, adaptive planning, and efficient well completions.

In addition to managing existing wells, Arcadian Resources is actively expanding its operations. Within the next 60 days, the company plans to drill three new wells in Cheyenne County, Kansas, and re-enter an old well in Lane County. This next chapter of growth reflects not only a market opportunity brought on by declining materials and drilling costs, but also Arcadian’s readiness to take advantage of industry cycles with calculated, forward-looking investment.

Arcadian Resources is more than just an oil and gas operator—it is a committed community member. The company officially joined the Beloit Chamber of Commerce in April 2024, affirming its ongoing support for local business development and civic engagement. Arcadian also plays a significant role in regional events, supporting local traditions and bringing people together through sponsorships and volunteer efforts. The company has served as a major sponsor of the Beloit Truck & Tractor Pull in both June 2023 and June 2024, helping keep a cherished small-town tradition thriving.

In 2023, Arcadian Resources LLC also sponsored Chainsmoker—a competitive diesel truck in the 3.0 Diesel Truck Division—and Faster Horses, a tractor in the 4.1 Tractor Division. These sponsorships are more than just marketing opportunities—they reflect Jimmy’s personal involvement in professional truck pulling and the company’s genuine commitment to rural sport and recreation. Chainsmoker, in particular, took home a notable victory at “Thunder Down by the River 2023,” a prestigious two-day pulling event held in Wisner, Nebraska. Arcadian’s visible presence in events like these showcases the company’s close-knit relationship with the people and places that surround its work.

The company’s commitment to community is further demonstrated through its sponsorship of upcoming public celebrations, including the 2025 Waconda Lake Fireworks Show, scheduled for July 5, 2025, at Glen Elder State Park. These contributions speak volumes about Arcadian’s values—not just in energy production but also in helping sustain the spirit of small-town life.

Arcadian Resources is also attuned to the broader trends shaping the energy sector. As drilling and completion costs begin to ease after years of industry-wide inflation, the company sees opportunity on the horizon. With rig counts still lower than average due to previous cost barriers, Arcadian is positioned to lead the way in responsibly ramping up activity where conditions are favorable. Attending events like the NAPE Conference in 2024 in Texas has allowed the company to remain on the cutting edge of industry networking, land acquisition trends, and investment partnerships.

As the energy landscape continues to evolve, Arcadian Resources LLC stands firm in its mission to deliver reliable oil and gas operations with integrity, efficiency, and care. At its core, the company believes in doing things the right way—from responsibly managing natural resources to building relationships in the towns it calls home. In an industry known for volatility and distance, Arcadian Resources offers a refreshing approach: local, personal, experienced, and driven by a deep sense of purpose.

From a single driller’s dream to a growing company headquartered on Main Street, Arcadian Resources continues to grow its footprint—drilling not just into the earth, but into the fabric of the communities it serves.
